Simple to install
To install, simply replace an existing 4 way socket with the supplied 5 way Anti Surge Smart Strips and plug in the Zone Controller. A wireless system, the Smart Strips communicate with each other and with the Zone Controller which is supplied in the kit. The system comes pre configured to automatically detect the Smart strips you are using and begins to record / display the power they are consuming in a real time manner on a secure, hosted platform. To demonstrate the system in operation, turn on any of the equipment plugged into the Smart Strips and the graphs show the increased energy use immediately.
The equipment is suitable for use on all office based IT equipment such as desk based PC systems, photocopiers, vending machines, printers, audio / visual equipment, televisions, plasma screens and servers. With this level of flexibility you are able to start measuring how much individual pieces of equipment cost to run and begin the process of identifying the energy hogs within your organisation. This can be used to management strategies that are transparent and simple to operate, perhaps leading to the replacement of energy hungry equipment for more energy efficient systems or the improvement in the ways that equipment is operated.
The supplied Smart Strip replaces any standard four way gang socket, and is plugged into any spare power point. The Smart Strips utilise the latest generation of energy measuring components as used on the latest electricity metering systems. This system provides penny perfect energy measurement of equipment at an appliance level. These systems work for all office based equipment. The Starter kit can be extended with the either the Lighting Energy Monitoring Kit or the Air Conditioning Energy Monitoring Kit.
The kit utilises a meshing technology which yields an unparalleled range. Each Smart Strip communicates not just with the Zone Controller, but also with all of the other Smart Strips in the system so that if the Zone Controller is out of range of the wireless signal, the message is sent to the adjacent Smart Strip and then "passed on" to the next Smart Strip and then to the next Smart Strip etc until the information is finally delivered to the Zone Controller. This means that even large offices can be catered for with just one Energy Manager and Zone Controller. NB There is no practical limit to the number of Smart Sockets and Smart Strips you can have per installation.
All communication between the Smart Strips and other products in the Enistic range are encrypted using the same 128 bit encryption algorithm that is used to safeguard your credit card transactions online. This means that the system is unparalleled in its security and you can rest assured that you have complete control over your installation.
