Log Store with Tool Storage

This is a large woodstore with an additional lockable garden storage section.

A great space-saving idea and tidier for chopped logs and kindling that are used for a fireplace, chimney or a log burning BBQ.

This timber log and tool store is made using pressure treated wood and is designed to season and dry your logs to give maximum heat output from your open fire or wood burning stove.

This logstore can be positioned in an open garden poition as the sides and roof are slatted to ensure complete protection from the rain, the base is raised and slatted to ensure maximum airflow through the bottom. This combined with the slatted back and open front will give sufficient airflow to quickly season your logs.

The lockable storage section can be used for storing anything and is ideal for all your garden tools aswell as having a handy shelf for storing kindling to keep it extra dry.

Designed to season your logs for higher heat output, easier fire lighting and helping towards carbon neutral heating.

Why your logs should be seasoned

If you try to burn unseasoned logs the heat that is produced is actually drying the wood before it burns and this uses a large percentage of the energy in the process.

Seasoning your logs gives you wood that is fit for burning by reducing the water content. Easily achieved by leaving the logs for a period of time in the right conditions. All wood contains water but freshly cut wood suprisingly can be up to 45% water whereas well-seasoned firewood has about 20–25% moisture content. Well seasoned firewood is easier to light, produces more heat, and burns cleaner.

Burning green wood results in less heat delivered to your home aswell as acidic water in the form of creosote being deposited in your chimney which can eat through the chimney lining and cause damage. Because wet logs do not create as much heat, the chimney flue does not heat up and there is little draw which doesn’t help the combustion, and the flue remains a cold surface on which the creosote condenses. Dry wood will burn hot – heating up the flue, creating a fast draw, and shooting the smaller amount of vapours out of the chimney before they get a chance to condense.

Pressured treated timber for Long Life and a natural finish.
