Chimney Balloon

Chimneys act as a funnel and pump to take warm air away. This is a good thing when your fire is lit and the warm air is full of smoke.

However, chimneys work hard even when there is no fire. Have you ever wondered why cold air rushes in through the gaps in the floors, doors and windows? It can't get in unless it is going out at the same speed.

You could block your fireplace with a board or bricks but then it looks ugly, and you can't use your fire when you feel like it. You'll also find that your chimney will get damp because the bricks aren't breathing.

You could stick a seal on the top of the chimney, but it will cost you lots and you can forget lighting pleasant fires. Even worse, you will still be heating a large volume of air in the chimney.

OK - so get an ordinary balloon, inflate it and stick it in the chimney...BANG! (whoops, sorry) even if it doesn't burst at once, it will shrivel up within a day !

That's why you need the specially engineered, guaranteed, patented Chimney Balloon.

It will stay in place for years - and stay inflated. It will provide 'double glazing' for your fireplace. You can deflate it (and re-inflate it) any time you want a fire.

Even if you forget it - and light a fire, it will just melt, harmlessly.

Installation
With the tap open (in line with the handgrip), blow a little air in to the chimney balloon - just enough to let you place it up into position without it scraping against the chimney. If you have a cast iron fire with a hole for the smoke to rise through you will need to push the chimney balloon through this before you start inflating.

With the chimney balloon in place and the white label facing you, complete inflation:
By mouth inflation tube, plugging directly into the tap, by air bed pump, inserting the nozzle into the tube end or by mountain bike or car valve pump, inserting the flexible connector end in to the rubber tube end.

When inflated, turn the tap off. You may have to top it up in an hour or two because the air may have cooled.
