The new Trec monitor from Current Cost provides a solution for basic day to day monitoring of electricity equipement in the home.
The Trec is very simple to set up and easy to use with a battery operated transmitter and mains powered display unit. The display is large, clear, and easy to read, showing how much electricity is being used throughout the home in both watts / kilowatts and cost per day / month. This information is updated every six seconds which gives you a real time usage figure.
The Trec incorporates the same wireless technology as its more sophisticated stablemate, the Envi also available from Greenstamp.
The Trec is an entry-level monitor, so has no memory function or computer interface. The Trec's transmitter unit has a single 12mm CT clamp and does not accept additional CT clamps for multi-phase supplies.
